july favorites
1. Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I was surprised by this product. I purchased it without reading any reviews and experimented with it for a week or so in early July. I like the consistency of this product because it really feels like it is working to provide a layer over your pores for your foundation to slide on smoothly. I recommend this product to anyone that wants a little more coverage during a makeup routine. The price of this primer is also a great reason to try it out.
2. Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder
This product has been raved about by beauty YouTubers for a while now and I definitely wanted to find a powder that would make my face look less oily and more matte. This pressed powder is a truly great way to add a clean refreshed look to your face, especially after sweating in the summer heat. It also made an appearance on my Instagram feed as a part of my morning routine. Applied with a large powder brush, this product works wonders for my makeup and provides me with long-lasting coverage.
3. Revlon Matte Balm in “Complex”
I am obsessed with Revlon lipsticks. They always create beautiful colors and wonderful packaging and it makes me really happy to walk into CVS and see the latest products. The matte balms were a cool idea and I own another one called “Audacious” and love how easy it glides on. Unlike other balms, this one does not leave you feeling dried out. It is impressive how long it lasts and to maintain the color only takes a reapplication every few hours. To see how this specific color wears, take a look at my photo.
4. OPI Fly
I received this nail polish after a visit to a local Aveda salon, and it has just been sitting in a stash of other nails polishes. I forgot how amazing this color is! Not only does it have green but a slight ocean blue tint that makes me feel like summer is still going strong (even though it is August). The polish has lasted up to 7 days which is just enough time to allow me to switch up my nail looks. I made a blog post about some of my favorite nail polishes that I wear all season long!
