alex & ani bracelets

alex & ani

I am a huge accessories fanatic. If you look at my closet, you'll see that I own way too many purses and an ample amount of necklaces and bracelets. There is one accessory in particular that I have been loving and can usually wear with whatever outfit I have planned.

Alex and Ani bracelets caught my eye last summer. I saw tons and tons of girls wearing these stack-able bracelets in shiny golds and silvers. I love how they can be personalized and tell you a lot about what someone loves! From baseball teams, colleges, birth stones, to sayings such as "everything happens for a reason", the Alex and Ani bracelets surely give customers a variety to choose from.

If you have seen some of my photos, you may recognize that I am often wearing two or three of my favorite Alex and Ani bracelets! I own a total of four. I have my initial, 'A' bracelet, a lotus flower, a 'BFF' bracelet, and a 'Love' bracelet.

I got a few of my bracelets as gifts and while on vacation. They cost between $24 and $32. I also love giving them as gifts because they are so unique!

Do you like these bracelets? How would you wear them?

Summer to Fall Looks (High End looks on a Budget)

designer pieces

These are some items from well-known brands such as Kate Spade (bangle) (watch), J.Crew (scarf), Stella McCartney (backpack), and Mod Cloth (booties). I am in love with all of those pieces, but they are really out of my college budget! Below is my interpretation of the trends above. All of these items are from Forever 21! Each one is less than $40.

something old, something new

Top: Old Navy // Shorts: Forever 21 (last seen here) // Belt: Old Navy (last seen here)
Necklace: Old Navy (last seen here) // Shoes: Jack Rogers // Bracelets: Alex & Ani

Blue is my favorite color. I wear it a lot during the summertime! These Forever 21 shorts ($6.29) I picked up during the summer have come in handy these last few weeks. I have worn them 3-4 times in the past month or so. They just pair perfectly with my white t-shirts and other blue tops. This Old Navy top is adorable and something that I've seen all over the blogging community! The graphic t-shirt trend was huge this past shopping season. I love the comfort of a t-shirt that also looks chic. The top I am wearing is on sale now for $10.99! I love reworking an outfit. Buying clothes that give you multiple ways to wear them again is very satisfying! Photo cred: my roommate Jessica for the lovely pics!

bright orange romper

Romper: Gianni Bini Dillards (similar) // Shoes: NY & Company (old) //
Bag: H&M (similar below) // Headband: Forever 21 (similar below) //
Bralette: Forever 21 (similar items below)

Rompers are one of my favorite pieces to wear. They combine a top and bottom into one. entire. article. of clothing! So easy! This romper stood out to me while I was shopping at Dillard's because of its color. It is not a crazy Halloween orange--I would describe it as a neon orange. The sleeves are billowy and have details on each arm. The shape of this romper is loose and I love that when it's hot outside because the fabric won't stick to you. I bought this romper on clearance for $18.90 ($54.00). These neutral toned shoes are wedges and honestly the only sizes that were left when I was at NY & Company were 9s and 10s and I wear a size 10 so I was lucky! (fun fact! anyone else have large feet out there, or is it just me!?). They were about $13. A great deal for a nice adult pair of heels. My bag is  from H&M and yes, it is really that large! Another one of my favorites from H&M that you may have seen is in this previous post! My bralette is from Forever 21. I bought this before the bralette trend really took off so the exact one I own is currently sold out! I have a few other options (this from Bealls for $5.80 or this from Urban Outfitters for $20.00) though! Special thanks to my roommate Nicole for the photography. Another hot day in Florida so I can still wear all my rompers!

it's still summer in florida

Top: American Eagle top (old 2012) // Shorts: Forever 21 (June sale) //
Boutique necklace // Shoes: Target sandals //
Nails: Revlon "Vixen" // Bag: Michael Kors wristlet (similar) //

Today's outfit was all about these amazing shorts. I bought these blue embroidered shorts from the huge Forever 21 sale back in June..they were roughly $10 and I got them an additional 30% off! Make sure to ask the employees when the sale items will be additionally marked down so you can save even more. You can see the details in the shorts in an up close picture above. I wanted to draw attention to them so I kept the rest of my outfit clean by adding a white strapless ruffle top and metallic flats. Luckily I can still wear my favorite sandals like these that I have mentioned here in previous looks!

Although I see everyone getting ready to wear their leggings and sweaters, it is still 95 degrees outside in Florida! As much as I want to participate, I am going to hold off on my fall wardrobe because I do not want to sweat all day. I can wear the last of my summer outfits in these next few weeks until mid-October when the weather cools off.

This necklace I am wearing is from Patchington, a store my Mom loves. It was on super sale and only around $12 (from $60!). I also have my Michael Kors wristlet (similar to this one) that I talked about in this blog post the other day. I carry that bag around in my larger Vera Bradley backpack.

I really like finding quotes that can perfectly describe how you feel at a moment in time.I try to pin quotes that make me happy and inspired, and also ones that are from my favorite TV shows and movies.

Whenever I feel stressed I go onto Pinterest and look up nice quotes and save them to my "Quotes" board so if I need to read something I can instantly look at the quotes I saved! These are a few quotes that I love from my Pinterest page.

School can make you feel very tense but taking a break is important! After I finish a tough assignment, I take a quick break to rest. I like to go on Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram to ease my mind.
Some other tips I have when you need to take a break are...
1. Talk to a close friend or family member.
2. Drink some water (or tea!)
3. Listen to your favorite artist.
4. Make a list of goals for yourself for the near future.
5. Take a walk.

These are some suggestions that I usually do! Do you have any relaxing techniques that you do? Share in the comments section below. Thank you for reading!

red, white, & black pom-pom shorts for $8.40

So the quality on these photos is from my phone which I apologize for if they aren't super crisp! I really wanted to post this outfit because it was one of my favorites from the past week. These shorts are from Dillards and my Mom sent them to me in the mail. The brand is Copper Key and these were on sale for $8.40! The pom-pom trend was really big in the summer and I am so thrilled that my Mom found these because I really wanted to style them. The colors (black, white, and red) are really easy to match with! The shorts are super comfortable and I posted the last picture onto my Instagram feed earlier in the week.

My white knitted cardigan is also a great item to throw over an outfit when you know sitting in classrooms can be chilly sometimes. My basic red tank top is only $1.80 from Forever 21. They are having a fall sale right now and new items are an additional 21% off. Also, the clearance section is up to 70% off. These make great layering pieces and I definitely recommend purchases some different colors for the fall.

Thanks for reading! Would you consider wearing this 'pom-pom' style of shorts? How would you wear them? Let me know in the comment section below! I love hearing from you!

what's in my tote bag

Here is some items that are currently in my tote bag!

 1. Michael Kors Wallet..this wallet has a ton of space and is great to wear by itself as a wristlet or to put in your purse. It's been a favorite of mine for awhile now. Inside the wallet are different slots to put your cash and credit cards inside. You can also fit most phones inside, too! The link is to a similar one in the same pattern.

2. Small Shabby Chic journals..these cute blue journals are from Target and they are the perfect size to throw in a tote bag. The fun prints are also unique and make writing down notes more enjoyable. The total cost of these journals was around $5. Jotting down information is an important thing to do especially when you easily forget things like myself.

3. Rose Phone Case..this phone case is from Aeropostale and was only about $8! I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and now that there are two later versions of my phone the phone cases for mine are on clearance. It is pretty floral print that is sturdy and bright, which makes digging for it in my purse a lot easier.

4. "You're my Cup of Tea" tote bag..I got this bag at Bath & Body Works and it was roughly $10. I am obsessed with tea...so this tote bag is very me. The turquoise color is also cute and the bag has a lot of space for me to put all of these items! Totes are great for carrying a notebook and your wallet, for going to the beach, or even for grocery shopping.

quick michael's buys

Good Saturday morning! I am heading out to the water later today with a student run organization called Her Campus. If you have noticed something different about my blog layout, there is a new widget on the right side. Her Campus has a blogger community that I recently joined! I write articles for the website and today we are having a social event.

In other news, the picture above includes items that I recently bought over the week. I went to Michael's craft store with two lovely friends. I knew that the Ellen Tracy line was slowly being marked down, so I wanted to check it out! I love when designers collaborate with big name stores (H&M and Alexander Wang in November! & Altuzarra for Target September 14th!).
1. Initial "A" Notebook..monogramming is so popular right now. Everyone is putting their name somewhere. Even blogger Chiara Ferragni has a motorcycle jacket with her name on it! I love the personalized details that stores are releasing. This notebook was only $1.50, and it reminded my friend of the Great Gatsby theme with its prominent gold outlines. And if you download the app Retail Me Not, you get coupon codes to enter at the checkout. My other items were on sale so the 40% off coupon was applied to the journal, making it actually cost $0.90!

2. Ellen Tracy lip-gloss..the shimmery pink lip-gloss is the first one in this set that caught my eye. The three colors are great for when you want a light shine, a medium shine, and a bold red lip. The red in this set is insanely pigmented and dries really fast (not to be confused with drying out, it just dries so you really don't need to blot!). For a crazy price of $0.80...these lip-glosses are such a steal! They are portable and fit in most bags!

3. Ellen Tracy pens..stationary is so fun while you are in college. Sending letters has become something I enjoy doing on my down time. I love finding cool cards to mail and using these pens will make it even more exciting. Not sure if I'm the only one, but when I find pens that write really smoothly its a good feeling. These are multicolored and have cool red and blue patterns. Again at only $0.80, I could not pass up this deal!

4. H&M adjustable charms necklace..okay, so I didn't buy this but my Mom sent it to me and I am too excited not to write about it! (Thanks Mom!) This necklace is no longer available online because it sold out, but I think you will have better luck in the stores! The gold chain comes with one of every letter in the alphabet and you can put whatever combination you want onto the chain. Right now I have my initials "ACB" on it! The going price is $7.95 for in-stores, and online it was going for $4.95

Have a great weekend. Follow me on social media for quotes and pictures about my life!
