Friday Beauty Faves 10-24-14

Hello lovely readers! Happy Friday to you all. This week I bring you my current favorite beauty products that I have recently tried and love. There are only four this week, but these items have definitely been overused which made them important to talk about.
This product and brand itself is very new to me. I had always seen these products in Target and CVS in the more ‘upscale’ shampoo isles and ignored them because they didn’t fit my budget at the time. I finally received a sample of the SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo 13 flz and tried it out last week! From the small sample I tried, I loved the smell. One of the things I look for when buying new shampoos/conditioners is how potent the smells are and whether or not I can handle the lingering smell. This one smells super natural and just like shea butter lotion. What I especially love about this shampoo is what it does to my curly hair. I usually have knots and tangles in the morning, but while using this shampoo every other day, my curls have been restored and are manageable! This shampoo priced at $9.49 at Target was definitely an investment because I am used to spending no more than $5.00. This product is natural, too! It has sea kelp, argan oil, shea butter, is sulfate -free, and is color safe which is great for over-processed hair (like mine!)
fall nail colors are where I bring out my favorite dark shades! This Essie polish is a dark maroon. Essie is known for their easy coat application and this one is no exception. The color glides on smoothly and you are left with a great rich color after about three coats that has lasted me for about two weeks. Plus the name of this nail polish is “Wicked” which coincides perfectly with Halloween! $8.49 at Target for this one!
I have used this product for a few months now and I love how it works! I love how it is paraben-free and hypoallergenic. I have been trying to incorporate more natural products into my skin and body care routines, and this St. Ives Body Wash Purifying Sea Salt is an example. The texture of this body wash is similar to a scrub–fine beads that work into a soft lather. It says it “smooths and renews” skin so that’s a plus. I also use this product in place of shaving cream! It creates a creamy lather before turning into a foamy one, so it works nicely for it. Get it for only $3.49 while shopping online at drugstore.com!
This final product that I have to include in my Friday Favorites list is the Detoxifying Black Cleanser by Boscia. I got a sample of this product from my local Sephora and heard great reviews about other Boscia products. This black cleanser seemed interesting because I love charcoal products already! Online it has four stars and that seemed promising to me. I tried it out during my nighttime skin routine and found that it did warm up on my skin like it said. I like rich products so the thickness of this cleanser made me happy. I felt the product washing away at the dirt and makeup on my face and it left me feeling clean. At $28.00, it is not a complete bargain but if you get the samples like I did you can test it out before you purchase.

I am coincidentally in the market for a cranberry shade of nail polish…CVS cheapo brand let me down last week! $28 is a bit steep for me for a cleanser, but I have loved Boscia's face wipes in the past.
Another Beautiful Thing

BrittneyI agree! I wish the cleanser was less expensive…I get by with the samples I seem to gather every time I go to the mall. I won't use the cleanser every day but only when my skin really needs it 🙂
Thanks for the comment, Brittney!
