christmas eve outfit

For Christmas Eve, I picked up this green lace dress from Francesca's. This one is $20 and is similar.  I absolutely loved the green color and felt very in the holiday spirit wearing it! I also got it 40% off so it was only $30.00. I wore it with my new Kate Spade bag which is a present I received from my best friend this year. It is such a great statement piece and I love the metallic gold color so much. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

what I got for christmas 2015

This is our beach-themed Christmas tree

Christmas in Florida is extremely hot this year {85 in December!}, but it just means the holidays can be celebrated in shorts and tank tops! My family and I spent the morning exchanging gifts, eating homemade french toast, and drinking peppermint mochas. I wanted to share some of the gifts I received this year. I always love seeing what people got for Christmas. I also enjoy opening up gifts and taking pictures of them in a festive way so much! In no way am I sharing this to be showy because I am very grateful for all of these wonderful and thoughtful presents. Thank you so much for coming to my blog and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Old Navy Cable Knit Sweater {on sale $19.97} // New York and Company Stud Earrings

Kate Spade Cedar Street Small Harmony Tote Bag

My Mom got this bag for me at the Kate Spade store just when they were marking it down! Instead of $268 it was on sale for $134 and then was additionally 25% off. I am so excited to use this for school for all my notebooks and other supplies.

This is the french toast I made in the morning! I used a pretty simple recipe:

1/4 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1 egg. Combine the ingredients and soak both sides of 1 slice of bread into the mixture and place it in a saucepan on medium heat until golden brown. Top with whipped cream, honey/syrup, and berries. They came out delicious!

Our family fireplace in the living room was burning a log

SHOP WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS:

marled sweater

While out shopping over the weekend, I picked up this marled black and grey sweater from the Banana Republic outlet. I am really into this new marled look of mixing black and gray! I have some more faves down below...I liked this one because it was $25 and marked down to only $12! It is over-sized and works well with the rest of my Florida winter wardrobe. These straight-leg denim jeggings are some of my favorites to wear because they don't get uncomfortable as the day goes on. I also love these from American Eagle for only $19.99. This crossbody is something I always pack when I travel from school back home because it is versatile and looks exactly like this Rebecca Minkoff one. I actually just picked another one up in red because I love this bag so much!

Are you still Christmas shopping!? Don't forget to check out my previous Gift Guides for Women and Men! Lots of helpful and {under $50!} picks :)

Good Monday Morning, friends! I know that a lot of you may live in cold climates, and as the weather shifts from fall to winter so should your skincare products. In order to maintain smooth and quenched skin it's important to keep it hydrated. I've collected a list of some of my go-to products that I personally use in order to keep my skin looking hydrated! From moisturizers to masks, read more to find out what brands I love to use during the colder months.

BEST FACE MOISTURIZERS:
1. Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray // this product is for the finishing touch on your morning makeup routine, or for added hydration throughout the day. It is sold in a large bottle for $30 that will last all year.
2. bareMinerals complexion rescue tinted hydrating gel cream // one of my favorite brands recently brought out a new line of hydrating tinted gel creams in lots of flattering colors! It's supposed to give sheer-to-medium coverage and has marine botanicals to boost hydration. It has SPF 30, too.
3. Clinique Moisturizing Cream // this not only has skin-strengthening ingredients but is extremely hydrating for even the driest of skin days. I like how it goes on slick and sinks into your skin very quickly. This one is also $14.50

BEST FACE MASKS FOR HYDRATING SKIN:
1. Origins Drink Up Intense Hydrating Mask // this mask is perfect for a night in. Apply a generous layer all over your skin and leave it on overnight. Avocado and Apricot Kernel Oils will work together to increase hydration in your skin and repair the skin's barrier to prevent future dehydration. It is $25 and is sold at Dillards, Nordstrom, in other major department stores, and also online.
2. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight hydrating mask // this pick helps retain moisture in the skin and will work for all skin types. It is free of harsh chemicals, too. Use this for added moisture and long-lasting hydration all day.
3. Burt's Bees Intense Hydrating Mask // this inexpensive pick is great for increasing moisture in the skin and is 99% natural. It will make your face feel smooth and renewed.

BEST HAND CREAMS FOR DRY SKIN:
1. Aveda Hand Relief // not only is mint very festive for the winter, but the combination of peppermint and rosemary is a classic Aveda scent. It reminds me of getting a hair cut or a massage which is just lovely! This hand cream provides a ton of great benefits to your hands that may become chapped during the holidays. Just grab this lotion and you'll smell just like you had a spa day.
2. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream // this drugstore product is from another brand that I love. I use the Cetaphil face wash every morning and night to remove makeup and dirt from my skin. This cream will not clog pores and is fragrance-free.

So that leaves out guess work on what kind of skin type the man may have. At $20.00, it is also sold at an affordable price point.

army green and stripes

This is a great shopping and day time look for the fall. Whether you are going out and about Christmas shopping or hanging out with friends, this look is both casual and trendy. I've owned this green puffer vest for over a year now and I love pairing it with different types of outfits. On this day I wore my comfiest striped dress {this one is on sale for $10!} and tall brown boots. This is one of my two favorite Forever 21 cross body bags that I've purchased in the past six months. Right now it is also on sale! Instead of $22 it is $16! Have a great day everyone!

shearling vest

Good Monday morning! Some fall pieces I recently picked up this past month include this gorgeous faux-fur lined drape vest from Blu Spero. This boutique chain is a new to my local mall and on Black Friday they were having some crazy deals--making this vest only $20! I loved wearing it underneath my go-to Forever 21 long-sleeve {this one from Old Navy is $6.00} and a pair of army green shorts. A simple rose gold Kendra Scott necklace and a crossbody bag {like this $15 one} completes this fall look. This week I am studying for all four of my final exams. I seriously can not believe it is already December...time is flying by! Good luck to everyone studying for exams!

lace-up top

This bohemian-inspired look pairs my favorite denim skirt with a new Black Friday purchase. My Hollister top was on sale from $30.00 down to $16.00! This skirt is from Charlotte Russe and was $26.00 a few months ago. I had been eyeing denim button down skirts but never wanted to spend more than $25-$30 on one. When I found this one in Charlotte Russe, I had to invest. It has since unfortunately sold out, but I have some more options in mind: here for $16, and here for $26. My lace bralette is from Forever 21. Thanks for visiting! Happy start of December, too!

black friday 2015 finds

Good Monday morning! Today I am sharing the best of my Black Friday buys. Although I said I wasn't going to go out early in the morning, I did end up getting to the mall around 9:30. The crowds seemed to have died down and it was easy to buy things with no lines. I went to a few of my favorite shops-American Eagle, Blu Sperro (a Florida boutique chain!), Plato's Closet, and Hollister.

white american eagle jeans {on sale! $30} // navy hollister lace-up ribbed henley top

White jeans are something I have trouble finding, so when this pair from American Eagle was on sale for an addition 40% off, I knew I had to pick them up! My best friend initially wanted them, but then she gave them to me to try on and I had to invest. At $17, they were a fantastic deal. They are also still on sale for $30.00 online. My Hollister long-sleeve top is also a cheap Black Friday find. It was $16 on Thursday night!

blu spero infinity fringe scarf {similar-$10.80} //  blu spero faux sherpa vest {similar in white for $22}

My gray infinity scarf {similar $10.80}was the first thing I spotted in Blu Spero. It was priced at $8! I also love the look of this vest! The mix of brown and faux fur is cozy and cute for the winter. I bought this one on sale for $20 instead of $46. I can't wait to style it this week when the weather gets colder.

forever 21 sweater dress {$17.90} // papaya sparkle headband

I bought two sweater dresses in Forever 21 before Black Friday. This is a gray swing dress I bought for under $20.00. It is sooo soft and the price point is amazing! I also wore this sparkly headband for Thanksgiving with my other swing dress. Here are some pictures from my Thanksgiving holiday, too! My best friend Nicole (in the first picture), my sister Kayla, and my best friend's sister Madison can be seen below in some adorable family photos. I am also wearing a new matte lipstick from Revlon in the color "Standout". My black over the knee boots are a new purchase from DSW for $50.

These booties are from Plato's Closet and I just had to get them! I was looking all over for some suede fringe ankle boots and when I checked out Plato's Closet on Friday, these were a perfect match. At $18, they were also a great deal!
