college apartment decor: part 1
For my senior year, I wanted to decorate my apartment with more fun, artistic, and inspiration items. I moved into a new place and felt like I needed to take advantage of this new beginning {and ending!}. My colors were only grey, silver and black at first but I found an amazing colorful new comforter set that is turquoise green so that is my pop of color! I hope you enjoy these pictures and as soon as I clean my room again I will update you with more.
My bedroom inspiration comes from a few different loves of mine. On my shelf I have my Instax Mini 8 {on sale from $100 to $65!} which I use to take cool Polaroid pictures on, a collage of pictures that I used silver glitter tape to hang, {more on that in another post!} and an old vase with fake white flowers.
Black and white pictures cover my gallery wall because they are a way to be decorative without adding too much overwhelming color to the room. I used a picture of Paris that I received as a present from my friend Lina, an artwork of New York City, an Audrey Hepburn photo, a “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” canvas art, a quote from Pinterest in a dollar store frame, and a photo I printed off the internet and added glitter to.
In the living room my roommate and I wanted to create a beach oasis. She put together our beach gallery wall and arranged it to look amazing! She found the two beach canvas artworks from Kohl’s on sale for $4 each! On one of our side tables I printed out my beach Instagram pic and framed it. The pillows on our couch are from various places and I found a ton of super cute and cheap options like this one for $9!
