palm print cardi summer to fall

This is one of my summer to fall looks! I think kimonos make really fun outfit makers. A bold printed cardigan/kimono like this one is something I truly love about summer fashion! They are so easy to throw on and make a simple tank and jeans look more put together. It was surprisingly chilly out this September day so I grabbed this blue tropical printed cardigan and paired it with my favorite American Eagle skinny jeans. Fringe is a major trend for the season, so I used my off-white shoulder bag in this look.

I love getting a gel manicure, but I don't like getting my nails done when I can do it from home and get the exact same results! Not only do I skip the hassle of finding time to go to a nail salon, but I don't have to use the harmful UV lighting that all gel manicures require. Essie recently released their own version of achieving an at-home gel manicure without the UV light! I used this "gel-setter" top coat over this bright orange polish that the set came with last month and my manicure lasted me three weeks. All you do is use ANY Essie polish and apply the gel coat to finish the polish. I just applied a new Essie polish so I am hoping for the same results once again.

There is something about buying new makeup brushes that I love. Whether it's the fact that it means I don't have to wash my old brushes or that I get to try a new brand out nothing beats getting new brushes! I have heard great things about the EcoTools brand and I wanted to test out a few of their brushes. Walgreens had some brushes that each came with $1.00 coupons I figured why not try a few! This skin perfecting brush gave me a really nice application of product when I used it with my favorite BB cream. This brush does have tiny bristles that felt a little pointy on my skin, but I actually liked how it let the product sink into my skin instead of laying on top.

I used to use a lot back in the day and I just recently picked it up again. I liked how easy it is use to apply it over a blemish and know that it is not only covering it up but helping to heal it, too! It gives natural looking coverage and is under $10 at most drugstores. The color matches my light skintone very well and it is a product that I can layer minerals on-top of very easily without moving the concealer around.

Fall means berry lipsticks! If you are not a fan of Zoella from YouTube then I highly suggest you watch her videos after you read this post. She is so bubbly and adorable and I watch her vlogs and beauty videos all the time. After she boasted about this lipstick being her favorite and one she wears a lot, I simply had to purchase it. I honestly think this shade should be renamed for her because she is so devoted to wearing it! It is a nice rich berry color that is slightly reddish instead of purple. It costs less than $6.00 which is wonderful. The perfect fall lipstick!

Thanks for reading, friends! I hope you enjoyed your weekend and saw the Red Moon last night. It was too cloudy where I live, so I couldn't see it!

Now that fall has officially begun, I can start pulling out my favorite sweater and leggings to coordinate cute looks for the cooler days ahead. Some things I am considering purchasing for the fall are pictured above! I really want to try the poncho trend right now...I love this cute plaid one from Wet Seal that is only $27. I also want to find a nice sleeveless jacket like this black one from Boohoo.com for cheap. I can picture wearing it with my favorite long sleeve shirts from Old Navy and a pair of these jeggings {only $19!}! Also, blush pink is not just for the springtime anymore. This rosy hue is back for the fall season and I also want to try a sleeveless vest in a blush color like this $23.00 pick. Flannels are a must-have item for fall, and although I own quite a few dark gray ones, I want to get at least one blue and white plaid top.  What are some things you want to buy for the fall? Let me know in the comments!

Here are some more picks for under $50!

hello fall

Long Sleeve Green Top {similar, only $7.50!} // Denim Jeggings

Welcome to the first official day of autumn! Bring on the pumpkin patches, cooler air, cinnamon cookies, and Halloween movies. I am celebrating the first day of fall by wearing this new top I bought at Aeropostale for only $5.00 {super similar one here} last week. It's a dark shade of green which brings out the natural red tones in my hair, which I am slowly enjoying after dyeing my hair blonde last year. My jeggings are on sale for $36 and I found out that the super trendy 'ripped knee' jeans are all on sale from ASOS for under $50! The grey ones are only $22.00 and black ones are $38.00. and I have my favorites linked below. My makeup favorite from Monday made an appearance in this look! I am loving the e.l.f lipstick in "tea rose" so, so much! It's a nice subtle color that doesn't stand out in a dramatic way, which makes it great for school. Have a great Wednesday friends!

monday makeup favories

1. Better Skin Foundation // 2. Bareminerals Blemish Remedy Concealer
3. LaVanila The Healthy Deodorant // 4. E.l.f. matte lip color in "Tea Rose"

1. Better Skin Foundation  this foundation was new on the market and I decided to try it out! It says it will give your skin some benefits such as helping with "dullness, spots, and unevenness". I bought the lightest shade in 10 porcelain and although it is a good match for my pale skin tone I still need to add some bronzer on top because it makes me appear too ghostly for my liking! The coverage is medium-full with the ability to build it up nicely. I have not seen anything too drastic in terms of less dullness, spot or uneveness with my skin but I'm only had the foundation for a month, so I'll see in time what happens!

2. BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Concealer  my weaknesses are definitely buying foundations and concealers! I bought this one at $22 from one of my favorite brands BareMinerals at Sephora last week when I had a giftcard to spend. I love this NARS Radiant Creamy concealer so much, but I wanted to branch out and try a new one. This creamy bareminerals concealer has some great benefits such as tea tree oil and aspen bark which help with breakouts, and aloe to help soothe and hydrate the skin. At first, I was not into rolling the stick onto my skin because I am weird about using fresh sponges to apply makeup and keeping things clean. I am slowly warming up to using the product directly onto my skin and I do like the amount of product I get with a single swipe across my face!

3. LaVanila The Healthy Deodorant I love this deodorant! I haven't switched from a new brand in a while because this product is something I always rave about. It's 100% healthy because it has no harmful aluminium, parabens, or sulfates. It comes in a variety of scents but I own the original vanilla scent. You can buy it from Sephora in two sizes, a travel size for $8 {which I first started out with!} or the large size for $14

4. E.l.f. matte lip color in "Tea Rose" I am someone who does not wear a lot of lipsticks. During the school day I usually just apply some of this lip balm because it smells nice and is good for your lips. On days when I do want a little bit of color, I pick light berry shades or a shade like this one. I like the price point {$3!} and how the color looks against my skin tone.

Happy Monday friends + have a fantastic week!

Wet Seal Necklace {similar, options below} // Black Retro Sunnies {$5}

Casual Fridays mean tank tops and denim shorts! This look features some crazy affordable picks, like my denim shorts that are under $10. My tank is old but I found a bunch of options from Joe Fresh below. My white crossbody bag has been in almost every blog this week! I just want everyone to know how versatile {and cheap!} it is! I actually should be expecting this one in the mail any time soon...so keep an eye out on Instagram for more. I am also wearing some Essie nail polish in "Sunday Funday" in the first picture. I recently bought the new Essie Gel Setter top coat and so far I am loving the results! More to come on Makeup Monday, have a great weekend friends!

i love the {classics} man

I love classic pieces as much as the next girl, but there is no way I want to spend J.Crew prices to get the J.Crew look. I've found ways to create my own version of the J.Crew style on a college friendly budget! Enter this outfit above. I have on a blue button-down {this white one is $10, too} that is honestly insanely comfortable {and one sale for under $10!} and some crisp white boyfriend shorts {the white after Labor day rule is something I do not abide by, hehe} and a large Kate Spade bag {this one is on sale from $298 to $178 and its HUGE!, or this tote is under $200} that was only $100 at the outlet mall. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this look and I hope to create more "preppy on a budget" inspired looks for the fall.

lace + gray

I've had this gray skater skirt in my closet for quite some time now and I feel like it's finally cooling down outside for me to wear it for the fall. I love the pleats and how it is high waisted so I can tuck button downs and this lace top into it nicely. My top was a $5 find from Target and it can go off-the-shoulder. My purse is my same $22 Forever 21 bag that people still think is this Rebecca Minkoff {$195} one! I love when I find similar comparisons among super affordable items and high end ones! Have a great Monday, friends :)

bloggers gonna blog

I ordered this cute bloggers gonna blog t-shirt from an online shop that I have been following over on Instagram for a while now! The Trendy Sparrow was having a deal where this shirt was only $12, so I went ahead and treated myself to one. I am wearing a size small, and I love how soft and cozy this t-shirt feels. I paired it with an edgy leather skirt and some more pink details like my Longchamp backpack and pink matte balm lipstick. My fun gold earrings are from Chico's and I bought them last weekend in Winter Park for $7! Have a great weekend, friends!

diy: tumblr inspired pictures tutorial

Good morning lovely readers! Today I have a really awesome tutorial to share with you all. Last week I was scrolling on Tumblr around 12:00 am and I got inspired to make my own cool quote pics. I took some photos that I personally took and downloaded them from my phone to my laptop. I was up for a few hours editing them and I think they turned out super neat! I wanted to make an easy to follow tutorial if you are interested in making your own version of the tumblr-inspired photos!

 1
-I used the website fotor.com to edit my pictures.
-I uploaded a cool pic from Tumblr for this tutorial {so I did not make this one! credit to Tumblr}

  2
-Look on the left column and choose the T at the very bottom
-Add your quote + enlarge the text in the center of the photo
  3
-Change the color of your font to white {or whatever color you want! this one just stands out}
-In the font selection area, scroll down until you see the font 'BEBAS NEUE'
-
4
-In the Basic Edits {or the first icon, the pencil} turn down the brightness of the photo
-This will make your text POP! against whatever background you have
-Save your new photo and post it on Instagram or Tumblr or somewhere to show off your work!

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!! If you make something link it to me!
Here are some more of my finished photos.....
