black friday 2015 finds

Good Monday morning! Today I am sharing the best of my Black Friday buys. Although I said I wasn't going to go out early in the morning, I did end up getting to the mall around 9:30. The crowds seemed to have died down and it was easy to buy things with no lines. I went to a few of my favorite shops-American Eagle, Blu Sperro (a Florida boutique chain!), Plato's Closet, and Hollister.

white american eagle jeans {on sale! $30} // navy hollister lace-up ribbed henley top

White jeans are something I have trouble finding, so when this pair from American Eagle was on sale for an addition 40% off, I knew I had to pick them up! My best friend initially wanted them, but then she gave them to me to try on and I had to invest. At $17, they were a fantastic deal. They are also still on sale for $30.00 online. My Hollister long-sleeve top is also a cheap Black Friday find. It was $16 on Thursday night!

blu spero infinity fringe scarf {similar-$10.80} //  blu spero faux sherpa vest {similar in white for $22}

My gray infinity scarf {similar $10.80}was the first thing I spotted in Blu Spero. It was priced at $8! I also love the look of this vest! The mix of brown and faux fur is cozy and cute for the winter. I bought this one on sale for $20 instead of $46. I can't wait to style it this week when the weather gets colder.

forever 21 sweater dress {$17.90} // papaya sparkle headband

I bought two sweater dresses in Forever 21 before Black Friday. This is a gray swing dress I bought for under $20.00. It is sooo soft and the price point is amazing! I also wore this sparkly headband for Thanksgiving with my other swing dress. Here are some pictures from my Thanksgiving holiday, too! My best friend Nicole (in the first picture), my sister Kayla, and my best friend's sister Madison can be seen below in some adorable family photos. I am also wearing a new matte lipstick from Revlon in the color "Standout". My black over the knee boots are a new purchase from DSW for $50.

These booties are from Plato's Closet and I just had to get them! I was looking all over for some suede fringe ankle boots and when I checked out Plato's Closet on Friday, these were a perfect match. At $18, they were also a great deal!

black friday: the deals

black friday steals and deals

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you have a splendid day filled with family time, delicious food, and memorable moments. If you are like me you love finding great deals for the holidays. Black Friday is the secret holiday that is not calendar official, but celebrated in most cities around the country. I personally used to love going out late into the night or waking up early in the morning to catch some good deals, but this year I'm not going to stress out about it! A ton of sales have already started and are going to last into the weekend so I am in no rush to be a part of the chaos that can be Black Friday. Instead I am planning on doing some day time shopping and also taking advantage of making online purchases.

I crafted a Black Friday Guide that can be found below for those of who planning on heading out this evening/morning! Good luck with your shopping and again, Happy Thanksgiving!

fall makeup favorites

Fall Makeup Favorites

1. Original Beauty Blender {$15} // 2. bareMinerals Foundation // 3. Becca Glow on the Go Two-Piece Shimmering Skin Perfector Set {only $20!} // 4. Clinique Eyeshadow Duo // 5. Revlon Matte Lip Balm in "Standout" // 6. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you have a great day and that you are as excited as I am for Thanksgiving on Thursday. I am going to be spending some quality family time and eating a ton, so expect some great blog pictures to come! Today I am sharing some Makeup Favorites for the Fall...I have been sorting through my makeup collection and I realized I have never tried the coveted "beauty blender". When I was able to use my VIB 20% off code on last weekend, I made the splurge and bought my first one! I purchased the Original Beauty Blender and I have been liking it so far. I have been using it slightly damp with my foundation and applying it with the pointed side. It really does get into areas around my nose that are hard to reach with other brushes, so I am happy with that feature!

bareMinerals is a classic makeup staple for me. Ever since I first started wearing makeup in middle school I have used this brand as one of my foundations. I wear the lightest shade because I am very light-skinned and I have been using this powder to set all my liquid foundation in place. It really mattifies the skin and completes my makeup routine. At $28, it is definitely worth the buy because the results are truly fantastic. Since I have such oily skin, this helps keep my makeup from sliding off throughout the day. Give this a try if you are also oily because I think you would love it! If that is too high of a price point for you, Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder is a great dupe for less than $6.00.

Another item I recently bought is the Becca Glow on the Go Shimmering Set at Sephora. It was only $20, and it came with a liquid shimmering wand in "Opal" and a pressed version in "Opal". Holy pigment! I made the mistake of applying way too much of the pressed powder at first and it ended up looking ridiculous. Definitely use caution when applying the pressed version. I should have been more gradual with my application process, but I am used to drugstore highlighters where you need to add a ton of product to get a good result! I highly recommend this set because it is way cheaper {save $18!} than if you were to buy a pressed highlighter on its own. You also get a wand version which is a nice bonus!

Clinique Eyeshadows are something I have started to dive back into recently. The purple shade in this duo is simply incredibly pigmented and easy to apply. I love finding unique colors and Clinique has a ton to choose from! The duos are also fun to use because they have a lid shade and a crease shade.

The Revlon Matte Balm included in today's post is something I have been eyeing for some time now. I absolutely love bold lipsticks because they are great for fall looks! The color I purchased is "Standout" which is a gorgeous matte reddish tint. I also used a CVS coupon that made it under $7.00 instead of $10. It is a retractable chubby crayon and has shea, mango, and coconut butter for moisture. I love this perfect bold Fall shade and I will be wearing it all holiday season!

The corrective serum I recently purchased was a splurge of mine, but one that I am not regretting so far! It is from the brand Kiehl's which is a brand I have loved for over a year now. This serum is supposed to help with dark spots and I have been applying it every morning and night after cleansing and before applying moisturizer. It comes with a dropper and I smooth it all over my face. I know I won't see immediate results because something like this takes time, so an updated review will be on the blog in a month or so! So far nothing bad has happened, such as a bad reaction to the product.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

designer dupes

designer dupes

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

I love finding dupes for otherwise extremely expensive items. These types of posts are my absolute favorite ones to write and post to my blog for you to read! When I come across something that looks familiar to me because I've seen a famous celeb or blogger wearing it, I instantly want to find the same look for less. One of my favorite things to do is hunt down the most affordable options and share them with other fashion lovers! It makes me so happy to see people responding to my finds because part of what I love to do is help people look and feel their best by shopping smart! Trends come and go, so way not save some major $$ while looking incredible at the same time. Today I am sharing three of my current budget-friendly trends:

The Chloe Drew Bag is a blogger must-have of the moment, and I found a nearly identical one for under at for under $50 {only $45!}. Forever 21 has also made their own version of this bag {which I seriously want!} for less than $30 but it is still sold out. I also recently found two more--one for $38.00  and another for under $20 which is a steal!

Another Chloe bag is the Chloe Faye Suede-Flap Shoulder Bag that retails for anywhere between $1,300-$1,800. This bag is so chic for the fall because of its suede material. Paired with a button-up jean skirt and a white blouse, this bag instantly makes an outfit feel fancier. However, I find this price point unrealistic and therefore I set out to find a better deal--and I stumbled upon this similar bag from Forever 21 that is less than $30 {get it for $27.50!}.

As for lace-up flats, they have been everywhere this season! I purchased this pair last month from Charlotte Russe because they had shoes marked down 40% off! This pair is extremely similar and on sale from $50 to $24.97. As for the pair in the photo above, they are from They are still on sale for under $30.00 which is awesome! Another option is this pair which are brand new to American Eagle for under $40.00. Stuart Weitzman makes incredible shoes, but I just can not dish out over $400 for any right now.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! If there are any major trends you are seeing right now and would love for me to find dupes for you, please feel free to let me know in the comments! I thoroughly love searching for affordable alternatives to pricey items!

plaid scarf

Hello, friends! Today's post is all about plaid, comfy skinny jeans, and the best of affordable fall fashion. This plaid black and white scarf is seriously so soft and is a great deal. At less than $13, this scarf is found at Forever 21 online and in stores still! I want to wear it more often, so hopefully my winter here in Florida can allow me to do so. My cable knit is also a great staple piece for this type of weather. I found some similar ones for super cheap {like this one for under $18} which are listed below. My lace-up flats have been a huge trend this fall--and I found some great options for shoppers on a budget! Have an amazing day!

swing tunic

It felt like fall the other day, so I had to take advantage of the drop in temperature to take fall pictures! I love navy because it pops against my skin tone and because I just love to wear blue. I've been itching to break out this gray swing tunic from Aeropostale that I bought for only $8.00. My navy coach cross-body {similar cheaper versions below} matched my felt floppy hat very well to complete this look with some navy accessories. I also had on a gorgeous bright Essie polish in the shade 'Aruba Blue' in this look! Have a great week, friends!

blue gingham + denim

Hello lovelies! Today's outfit is a mix of print and denim. This blue gingham top is from Forever 21 and I believe it was on sale for around $13! You can roll the sleeves up a bit or you can leave them hanging like I am in the pictures. I love shades of blue {navy is my neutral!} and this one is a bright hue that is complimentary to my skin tone. This one is from the brand Madewell and is on sale for $34 instead of $74! My denim cut-offs are from the summer and are on sale for under $15 at Old Navy right now! I always suggest shopping off-season for clothes, so shopping for your summer wardrobe now is a great idea. Have a fantastic day!

navy trench coat

Trench coats are something I've always wanted to wear, but never knew how! I found one that was originally $100 at New York and Company a few months back on sale for $20. This one I found for under $20 from Joe Fresh which is an amazing deal! I couldn't resist the great deal so I bought it and am styling it in today's look. My crazy printed pants are unfortunately unavailable, but they are mustard and navy so they match the navy trench really nicely. My extremely soft American Eagle top is also on sale right now! Wishing you a fabulous weekend ahead and sending you a thank you for reading this new post!

i live in neutrals

As much as I would like it to be fall in Florida, I am having fun creating looks for what I wish I could wear right now! My new vest is going to be such a fun layering piece for when winter hits. I am going to pair it over a long-sleeve white top and jeans some day soon. Neutrals are what fall/winter is all about. So long to bright colors until the spring! I also am wearing one of my favorite necklaces in my collection-this silver rhinestone statement necklace {check out this similar one for $15!} I hope you enjoyed this look, and have a great Wednesday friends!

natural makeup and beauty favorites

natural beauty favorites

1 // 2 // 3 //
I've compiled some of my natural makeup and beauty faves for this Monday morning! My beauty regime is slowly integrating natural and eco-friendly products, so I am excited to share some of my personal collection of new items.

I just picked this shampoo up from my last grocery tip to Whole Foods, and I am so glad I did. After just one use my super oily scalp is drier and my hair has become easier to manage! It is also on sale right now for under $7.00 which is another plus. The smell is a strong peppermint but it does slowly fade the more you wash it out.

My hometown esthetician carries these products in her building and I have been impressed with the results I've seen from frequently using this mask. So far I have been using it every night (like it recommends) and also using it as a spot treatment overnight. The mask become tight on your face because it is actively working on extracting bad oils from your skin. The mask is also sold online for $34 and you can usually find a code from Retail Me Not for an additional 10-15% off! I am going to continue using this mask because I love it and it fits nicely into my nighttime routine.

I like using body washes that are not overpowering. Although I do like using this Bath & Body Works scent, I prefer using one that is a natural foaming body wash. This Aveeno wash is around $7.00 and I've had it for about a month now. The fragrance-free version is what I use because it is a simple way to just get clean without any intense fragrances leftover (I usually get a headache from too many scents!).

Natural beauty is something I keep delving into because I like the fact that some products on the market contain more eco-friendly ingredients. This BB Mascara has been a favorite of mine at the moment. It doesn't make my eyes water or itch, which is great because I wear contacts and wearing mascara sometimes makes it difficult for me to keep my contacts fresh. This mascara also had a $3.00 off coupon attached to it so it made the mascara around $6.00 for me, which was a big enough incentive to test it out. It gives my lashes the right amount of length and it stays on during the school day.
