Winter is almost over and I am already thinking about what to buy for the springtime. Soft pastels and bohemian florals are some trends that are on my wishlist so far. I've compiled a detailed visual that I would like to call my "vision board" for the next season. Tan booties are a casual shoe that will go best with flowy dresses and straight-leg jeans, like these from Forever 21 that are only $30. A few different bag styles that I want to invest in are the cutout crossbody {that looks just like an expensive Chloe one!}, and a bright colored round crossbody with gold detailing. Statement necklaces are still going to be around for the spring, but I am looking forward to experimenting with layering necklaces. There are a bunch of other items that I am lusting over below, too, so check them out!

This past weekend I went back home to spend time with my friends and family that were in town. This involved a lot of eating out, walking around, and of course, shopping! I went to two malls over the weekend and picked up some LUSH masks, a new Tevanna tea maker, and these new booties from Blu Spero. Usually I can find my shoe size (10) on sale in many stores because it is not an average size. Luckily these neutral colored booties were on sale for only $5.00! I am looking forward to styling them with skinny jeans and flowy tops during the springtime.

SHOP THE POST:

stripes & a classic denim button-up skirt

I was going through some of my clothes that are tucked away under my bed, and I found this never worn striped long-sleeve top! It is Joe Fresh which is a brand I love to wear. They sell it at JCPenny's and this one was on super sale {and still is for under $7!}. I absolutely love wearing my denim button-up skirt from Charlotte Russe, too. I think this trend is one of my favorites of the fall/winter season. Many 70s inspired outfits I've seen on Pinterest have been influencing my style picks in the recent weeks.

the latest on Instagram

Today's post is dedicated to what I've been wearing lately on my Instagram.  A lot of my theme {which is F2 on VSCO by the way!} is pictures of me wearing blush pink because its such a pretty color.  I bought this blush pink wool coat during the tail end of the Christmas holidays for under $35! Check out the rest of my pictures below with where you can shop the looks!

Coat: Forever 21{old, similar one at Charlotte Russe for $16
Jeans: Levi's Boyfriend Jeans {old, similar ones for $25}

Gray has been my color for the past few months. I just keep buying more and more of it and slowly it has become a major part of my style. I always try to mix it up by adding more bright colors into my wardrobe, but wearing gray just makes me feel the most comfortable. I purchased this coat from Forever 21 last winter for $28 and unfortunately I couldn't find it online but I've listed some similar ones below that are in the same price range.

If you haven't purchased anything from American Eagle's Soft & Sexy line yet, I highly suggest you check it the next time you are in your local mall. The clothes are seriously soft, wash well, and are currently on sale! The shirt I'm wearing in this look is from that line and is only $14 right now. The line has a variety of tanks, long-sleeves, skirts, and crop-tops with flowy cuts and a flattering color palette. Thanks for reading today's post! I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day no matter how you spend it--whether its with a significant other, close friends, or family. Until next time XO

valentine's day gift guide: under $50

It is almost Valentine's Day! Today's post is all about finding the perfect {affordable} gifts for those you love. I went into creating this post thinking, "Would I want this?", so hopefully this can spark some ideas for you. Leave me a comment if you like any of these options!

To start out I've been looking into purchasing a cute fluffy keychain like this pink one for some time now to add to my backpack. I also have a love for candles and have yet to buy a Diptyque one. They are on the pricer side, but special holidays are meant for splurging a little! This one is $32. These Kendra Scott studs are an incredible find! They are under $40 and are white mother of pearl.  These are a classic piece for any woman's accessory collection. Cute coasters are also a fun home good, and this one has kiss designs in white and gold! When it comes to buying makeup for the holidays, tons of stores may come to mind.

Kohl's is a surprisingly good place to look for inexpensive deals. I found this blush/bronzer combo by Jane for only $12! That price beats any NARS product. If someone you need to find a gift for loves to be organized {such as my roommate! cough, cough to her boyfriend ;)} a to-do list would make the perfect present. Onto more fashion finds. Since it is still chilly out, some tech gloves make a very practical choice. These are from Macy's and are under $40! LUSH is the bomb {bath bomb that is!}. They sell bath bombs, moisturizers, face wash, masks, most beauty products you name they will have. I highly suggest going with a bath bomb or a scrub because they are easiest to please most people with! Or, if you know your gift receiver's personal skin type you may find them a nice face mask!

casual valentine's day look

I've been planning out some cute Valentine's Day posts all week, and this is the first introduction post to the upcoming holiday! A color that I've obviously been loving lately is blush pink. I incorporated it into this outfit look because I found such a great deal on my tank top from Old Navy. Right now it is still on sale, and not only will it be a great occasionally warm winter day piece but also a perfect summer tank. I had to add some red into this themed look with my crossbody from Forever 21. I now own the same bag in three different colors, but I am not mad about that because they were all about $16-$20! To make this outfit look casual I wore my Converse sneakers. Next week I'll be uploading some affordable gift ideas! Also, it's my birthday on Sunday so I'll be posting updates throughout the weekend :)
