lace-up dress & jewel sandals

I was home last week and forgot to bring my camera with me, so I am extremely happy to be back at school and in the process of taking more spring outfit pictures! While at home I stumbled upon this adorable lace-up dress from Hollister. Online it sells for $36 and in store I got an extra 40% off so it was around $23.00! I love the soft faux suede texture of it and how trendy it is for the spring! I also have to point out my other favorite part of this look--my shoes! These lovely jewel sandals were only $29 at Marshalls and luckily I found them in my size! They are the cutest shoes and the jewels themselves are a rose gold color which I am obsessed with. Thanks for stopping by!

a spring playlist

Good Monday morning, everyone! Today's post is a something new: a spring playlist. I love listening to new songs when the seasons change, and these are a few of my current favorites. I've highlighted these selected songs for you to discover new artists! Hopefully there is a good mix here to check out. My music taste is extremely all over the place. I enjoy basically anything that won't give me a headache! I also have a soft spot for songs that remind me of certain movie scenes. If you want to follow me on Spotify and check out the rest of the Spring 2016 Playlist you can do so for even more music.

spring picks: denim and sunglasses

hello, spring

Baublebar 'Tinsel' Tassel Drop Earrings $38, Nordstrom // Off-the-shoulder blouse $18, H&M //
Boyfriend Jeans $40, H&M // Striped Pom-Pom Straw Tote $35, Kohls  // Caged Gladiator Sandals $20, Forever 21

Yesterday was the official first day of SPRING! Although springtime seemed to start much earlier in the month, Sunday marked the beginning of a new season. One that is going to be jam packed with sandals, beach totes, distressed denim, and tons of off-the-shoulder tops! So far I've listed some of the best denim deals and deals on popular sunglasses for you to welcome spring into your wardrobe. Read on!

denim picks

From the left: $36 // $26 // $20
$39 // $20 // $40

I own the American Eagle denim shorts listed for $39 and they are an instant favorite. They are super stretchy, wash well and don't fade. They were one of the last pair in my size in the store and as soon as I tried them on I knew they would make a great addition to my denim shorts family.

eyewear
From the left: $5.90 // $45 (Dupe for Dior So Real Sunnies, $560) // $30 // $5.90 (Round frames)

The blazing hot sun is no match for protective eye wear. All of these are crazy affordable options! The Lord & Taylor ones for $45 are a great dupe for those super pricey Dior ones. $560 on sunnies!? I don't think so!

turtleneck sweater

Sweater: Banana Republic {$10 similar Forever 21 option} // Leggings: Charlotte Russe

I found this Banana Republic turtleneck at the outlet malls back in November and I absolutely love it. I used to hate turtlenecks because I felt like they were too suffocating, but now I think they've grown on me. This one is especially thick and cozy. It was $25.00 and is an off-white creme color. I paired it with my go-to DSW boots and cheap Charlotte Russe leggings for a relaxed winter outfit. Soon I'll be storing this under my bed because winter will be over and spring will be in.

monochromatic black

Usually in the winter season I stick to wearing neutral tones because the weather can be dull and I save all my colorful pieces for the spring. I was inspired to create an all black look because of my Pinterest obsession that keeps me up late into the night. I like how wearing one color can look very polished and this outfit is one that I came up after my Pinterest binge! I bought this Target poncho during the fall in addition to my other aztec printed cape because they were buy one get one half-off, so I bought two of them for $30. The aztec cape is also on sale now for $10.48 so if you are like me and enjoy stocking up for future seasons while last season's clothes are on clearance I'd pick one up for yourself as soon as possible. I got so much use out of my DSW boots this winter season. When I purchased these for $50 I immediately felt remorseful because I never expected to spend so much on one pair of boots that weren't a fancy designer brand but I am so glad I did. I pretty much wore these every school day and they did not bug my feet one bit. This is one of my last winter posts because now the temps are climbing into the 80s in Florida!

saturday skin care

skin care routine

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

I've missed posting for my Skin Saturday series so I'm back again with a new edition! This one includes some awesome Sephora loves (and maybe future loves!) and holy-grail drugstore products. Enjoy the post!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // After using this product for roughly six months, I've quickly missed it whenever I run out. I found a bottle of this Garnier Micellar Water for under $6.00 at Publix yesterday and it truly removed all my mascara and foundation in a few quick swipes. Even if you have dry skin, this stuff will not dry you out!

Charcoal Face Sponge // I've been using charcoal sponges for a while now but instead of splurging on my usual Boscia one, I saw CVS sold similar dupes and started to test this cheaper one out for myself. I bought it at $3.99 and I saw some similarities but also a few differences. 1) The CVS sponge is slightly harsher on your skin. It does not get as soft as the Boscia one will over time. 2) The CVS one is marked at an incredible low price and I did end up buying another one yesterday. The CVS sponge is quite an affordable alternative to the pricey Boscia one but I do wish it was softer!

Philosophy "Clear Days Ahead" // I was recommended this product by a lovely employee at my local Sephora when she was dealing with breakouts. It was $22 which is pricey for the drugstore but on the more affordable side when talking about Sephora cleansers. So far I like how it smells like oranges, lathers up nicely, and contains salicylic acid which is an acne killer. I'm going to continue using it for another few weeks to see if I can spot any major differences to rave about it an update post! I want to try more products by this line like this "Clear Days" Moisturizer.

First Aid Beauty Oil-Free Mattifying Gel // ooh, this stuff feels so buttery and smooths over your skin amazingly well! I haven't tried much from this line but I decided to try this moisturizer out because it contains oil-free ingredients and is great for the day and night. So far I am loving it!

Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque // this was a splurge purchase for my birthday, but I feel so-so about it. My local Sephora employees were raving about this masque but I don't know if I can see any difference to my skin from it yet. It has sulfur which is amazing for drying up pimples and I have used it as a spot treatment for overnight solutions, but I still don't know if its helping or harming my skin! I've had a few break-outs since I started using it and I read online that that could happen so we will see in the next few weeks how things go.

Yes to Tomatoes Clearing Facial Mask // my cheaper alternative that I absolutely love is this mask from the drugstore. It costs about $15 and is a sulfur mask that dries up your acne fast. I like how affordable this mask is and that it is more of a natural solution to skin care. The entire line is great because I also love this moisturizer from Yes To.

Do you have any skin care products you LOVE? Tell me in the comments!

spring green

Spring is in the air and what better way to celebrate than with a flowy skirt and cozy knit top. My American Eagle top was on super clearance for $14 and my denim skirt is from Aeropostale. I wanted to wear this look on a nice day and this past weekend was perfect! I've been wearing a lot more green lately and I like how this sweater has zippers on the sides, too. My Kate Spade tote is a classic part of this outfit and the silver details add just a bit of shine. I hope you are having a wonderful Monday!
