My Fall Wishlist

Fall Wish-List

To me, fall represents change. Usually the start of this season brings a new school year (except for this year!), and a fresh start to a new season of fashion. This is my favorite season for many reasons. I love the types of clothing fall brings-scarves, rain boots, and puffer vests are definitely on my list. The summertime heat fades away and the ability to wear cute ankle booties takes place. Over-sized cardigans appear in my closet in many shapes and designs. I love this black and gray one for its versatility. Fall creeps slowly into the air here in Florida, and I just can not wait! Until it comes, I'll be lusting after all of these picks...

Black Jeggings

Good Monday morning! The weekend flew by so quickly but I'm so excited for another week to start. I recently started a new side job as an Editor-in-Chief for The Odyssey, a college online magazine. I've been loving my job so far! I get to write my own articles (find them here!) and edit my team's weekly submissions. I love to write and publishing work every week is such a wonderful experience. Now onto this look: I am all about jeggings! I honestly don't like wearing denim jeans anymore..nothing compares to the serious comfort level that these jeggings have. All of my denim has to have some form a stretch or LYCRA like these do. Unfortunately it is still hot as ever in Florida, but eventually I'll be able to wear these black jeggings for more than an evening. I also brought back my favorite lace-up flats because they are dressier than flip-flops. Have a great week and I'll be back again with more content soon.

Top Makeup Picks for Pale Skin

Having pale skin does not have to be a struggle any longer! I've tried every suggested pale girl foundation under the sun, and I've compiled my favorites to share on the blog today. Of course I went threw a ton of foundations before I found the right ones that didn't leave me looking orange. Nothing is worse than waking up and putting on your face makeup to look in a mirror 8 hours later and seeing it change color! I do love my high-end foundations, but there are some stand-out drugstore products I love using on the regular. Scroll down for all my picks!

The Best Makeup for Pale Skin
DRUGSTORE: Glamoflague // Maybelline Fit Me Foundation // Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder // Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation

HIGH-END: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation // Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder // Urban Decay 'All Nighter' Liquid Foundation // Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation // Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation // NARS Concealer

  • Glamoflague || I very recently purchased this foundation in the lightest shade, Porcelain. I've worn it twice so far and both days my face remained the same color! It did not oxidize at all and it was only $7.00 from WalMart. It is such a bargain and gives a great color that matches my skin tone perfectly.

  • Maybelline Fit Me Foundation || This is one of my top foundations from the drugstore. I've been buying this for over two years now! I just love the matte finish it gives and the coverage is amazing. You can find it everywhere and sometimes I find coupons to get a $1 off.

  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder || This is a powder that is under $10 with awesome mattifying capabilities. I blot this all over my skin after applying my foundation.

  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation || This product is from Rimmel, too. The texture of this foundation is mousse-like and feels very thick, but it eventually smooths out evenly on the skin. I do find this foundation to change colors slightly, so be aware of that possibility!

  • NARS Sheer Glow Foundation || Sephora has some fantastic options for foundation in tons of different shades. I love this one in particular because it has high coverage and applies quickly with not a ton of product. A must-have for pale girls!

  • Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder || Setting powders are important to truly keep your face makeup in place. I use this one to set my under-eye concealer and my entire face while I'm at it. I own the smaller one because I felt like I wouldn't use a ton of it and I've had the same powder for over a year now.

  • Urban Decay 'All Nighter' Liquid Foundation || I just got a sample of this from Sephora last week! It is super impressive. The coverage is medium-to-full and the color I sampled matched my face very nicely. It stayed put all day when I set it with a powder.

  • Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation || Think lots of pigment and tons of coverage for this foundation. I compare this one to the next one on my list the Marc Jacobs foundation because they both provide insane coverage to hide basically EVERYTHING

  • Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation || If I could afford to buy $55 on the reg I would buy this all. the. time. This also has insane pigment. You definitely only need a single dot of this stuff for it to cover your whole face, trust me. I'm almost out of this product and I am so sad!! I'll wait until Christmas to purchase it again if I get a gift card to use.

  • NARS Concealer  || My first Sephora makeup purchase that was over $10 was this concealer. It did not disappoint! I used it for a few months to cover my under-eyes and pesky dark spots. I highly recommend trying this out if you have pale skin and need to invest in a nice concealer.

College Room Essentials with Crane & Canopy

Now that school has finally started for most students nationwide, it's time for the fun part-decorating a new space! One of the best things about returning back to campus is creating a home away from home with personalized pieces. Decorating my Freshman year dorm room and my two apartment bedrooms were great ways to show off who I am. I loved picking out new comforters at Target and finding unique ways to create a gallery wall of artwork and quotes.

The luxury bedding company Crane & Canopy reached out to me to see how I would design my own dorm/apartment room for the school year. Last year, I incorporated a ton of grey into my overall look and would definitely repeat that shade again. I am all about monochromatic tones for a simple, clean design.

I love this Charcoal Grey Bedding and I wish I knew about this company when I was purchasing my own bedding! Instead of spending $50 per year on a new comforter like I did, I could have spent $130 on one quality set that would have lasted me all four years. That type of investment is something to consider for your next bedroom this school year!

*Thank you Crane and Canopy for reaching out and asking me to design my own dorm room look.

Summertime Blues

Top: Thrifted! {similar here}// Shorts: Old Navy White Denim Shorts {just under $8!}

While on vacation in New York back in July, my family and I stopped in at a local thrift store. My Mom and I love going to this particular one because we've had such great luck there before! Last year I found tons of J.Crew items and my sister found a dress to wear to a wedding the year before. Now when you thrift you have to be picky. You must spend quite some time looking at an item before buying it to make sure it seems like it is in somewhat good shape. I found some denim shorts, a striped skirt, and this gorgeous white and blue top there this summer. The top does not have a brand to it, so unfortunately I do not know where it came from. I'm pretty sure I only spent a few dollars on it, too! I can't wait to wear it with my favorite white ripped denim jeans in the fall.

The End of Crop Tops + High-Waisted Denim

Mine are in this gorgeous tortoise shell color but definitely check out these cool mirrored white and silver pair from Nordstrom for only $12!!

Summer may be over for most places, but where I live the weather will easily stay in the 80s until Christmas! That means I can keep wearing outfits like this one long after Labor Day ends. Speaking of Labor Day, I shopped some amazing sales and found turquoise J.Crew chinos for $11! I also found these Aeropostale shorts for just $7. I was looking for a new pair of high-waisted shorts and these were on clearance. After trying on a few sizes I found the right ones for myself. I am also wearing some $2 earrings from Walmart {yes, the grocery store!}.

The Best Labor Day Sales!

With the end of summer just weeks away, the end of beach trips with melting ice cream cones is marked by Labor Day festivities. Currently I am en route to Orlando to see my college friends for a weekend away! Even though Hurricane Hermine has caused major flooding in my town, I am leaving today with the hope that things will clear out by Sunday. I'm sure I'll be posting a lot over on Instagram, so make sure to follow ame there. What better way to celebrate than with some amazing holiday sales! I've found some stores that are marking down tons of summer items for the cheap {store for next summer!}. Check out the full detailed list below and start saving now!

Okay, so maybe you haven't been inside one of these since your ear piercing in the 5th grade. I braved the storm two days ago and saw the "$2" clearance section and the fact that ALL their jewelry was $5 and somehow walked away with the cutest new accessories for under $30!
