How To Style a TopShop Pinafore Dress

Photos by: Christine Wozz

A pinafore dress is so exciting to style. I found this TOPSHOP option recently. The blush pink and cute floral details are what won me over.

The moto zipper is also a chic addition to such a girly pinafore dress. The soft color palette of the mural compliments the light pink color of the dress, too. A GINGHAM version of the dress is also adorable.

Did you take notice of the mural I shot this look at?

It's a Twiggy mural created by artist Chad Mize in Downtown St. Pete. I absolutely love it and the 60s vibes went beautifully with the outfit I had on for the shoot. I really want to spend more time exploring the many murals of the downtown area. This Twiggy one has to be my favorite so far!

As usual, I have on my favorite Smashbox LIQUID LIPSTICK to tie my makeup look together. I keep recommending this lipstick to anyone who asks me about it. I simply can't be without it now! The colors are both pigmented and long-wearing, so I recommend this brand if you are looking to buy a new lipstick.

To find more details on the rest of my outfit, I've linked to a few options for you in the slider widget at the bottom of my post for you to check out!

How to Style an Old Navy Shearling Vest

Shearling vests are so cozy for the wintertime.

I have this VEST from Old Navy that I scored for under $30! Pairing it with a green bell-sleeved PULL OVER ($17) is the right way to look casual with such a statement vest. The vest itself is great for mixing with other patterns and textures this holiday season. The white and brown colors are so neutral, I just love it!

Once again I am using my gorgeous new Rebecca Minkoff satchel purse.

Styling this bag for the fall and winter season is so easy! I adore the berry color and how it fits so much inside. I highly recommend this brand if you are in the market for a new satchel/cross-body purse. It also comes in SO many unique colors that you will love. The blush pink tone is now becoming one of my all-time favorites.

These Brynn Hudson earrings are so glamorous for the holidays!

I can't wait to style them with more looks that involve velvet, too. You can shop the earrings and use my discount code “affordableby30off" to receive 30% off your total!

Right now I am in New York on vacation. My cousin is getting married tomorrow! We are so thrilled to be in town to see her walk down the aisle.

Stay tuned for my outfit and accessories reveal and details on how to shop the dress I will be wearing for the main event!

Acnedote™ Face & Body Scrub and Fast Fix™ For a Pimple Review

Skincare is a huge part of my daily beauty routine. I always pick products that are effective to keep my skin clear and remove all of my makeup from the day during my night routine. Something that I recently added to my routine are two natural skincare products from Alba Botanica®

Alba Botanica® is not just another beauty and skincare brand. The products they believe in are protecting your body from harsh chemicals and providing you with high-quality ingredients to maintain the beauty you were born with.

As someone who has struggled with acne for years, I have been through so many endless products to help my skin look clear. I tried the Acnedote™ Face & Body Scrub during my time at college and continue to use it on a regular basis if I need to refresh my skin. The ingredients found in this face & body scrub are meant to do GOOD things to your skin without stripping away important natural oils.

Not only does the face & body scrub have powerful Salicylic Acid and Willow Bark Extract to fight existing acne and prevent future breakouts, but it smells amazing! The peppermint smell is enjoyable to use each morning and night, and I look forward to gently exfoliating the dead skill away.

You can trust the botanically-based products to leave your face feeling as good as new each time you cleanse. Forget about over-irritation, as the face & body scrub is free of dangerous plastic microbeads that are found in most other skincare lines.

For those unfortunate pesky pimples, try applying the Fast Fix™ For a Pimple to zap away your zit in no time! The licorice root found in this product is great for calming down the large blemish and the willow bark extract soothes the irritation. Another cool factor about this product? It's tinted, so your blemish is immediately covered up in a flash if you need to attend class or have an important business meeting.

Follow the Alba Botanica page on Instagram for updates on the latest natural beauty releases.

$39 Nordstrom BP Sweater + Levi's Skinny Jeans

Nordstrom sweaters are amazing!

The BP collection is full of affordable flare sweaters like THIS SWEATER for $39. The great thing about this sweater is that it comes in sooo many colors! The under $40 price point is also seriously wonderful.

Forget about finding something overpriced from Free People for the winter, check out Nordstrom's BP line for the best affordable deals. I'm bringing this sweater along on my trip up to New York. I am into the purple tones at the moment, however, this flare sweater is also cute in a dark orange color.

For the complete look pictured above, a pair of ripped jeans from LEVIS is a great match for this time of year. Don't forget about cute ANKLE BOOTIES, too!

Get ready to see some more exciting winter looks on the blog next week after I explore NYC and spend time with the family!

No winter wardrobe is complete without some inexpensive finds from Forever 21! I walked into my local Forever 21 over the weekend and picked up a few warm pieces for my upcoming New York trip next week. A good KNIT SWEATER is always important to pack, and I love the twisted back on this one.

I am so excited to finally experience real, authentic WINTER weather (like 40s and 50s!!) because right now it's feeling a lot like summer and I'm over it! I'm ready to put on my jeans, booties, and sweaters for some cozy nights ahead.

Let's talk about these winter essentials for a minute: these super cute faux suede ANKLE BOOTIES are sitting right in my suitcase (and are on budget for under $40!). No matter how I plan on styling them while in New York, I know they will look the part as I'm walking through the city.

Of course, no shopping trip is complete without a bit of soft VELVET. I'm all about this texture right now! I have velvet dresses and now I'm exploring tops and skirts.

Hello, there!
Did you have a nice Thanksgiving with your friends and family this year? I hope it was delicious and not too overwhelming.
One day I will be forced to cook my own Thanksgiving meal for my family and I pray that it turns out edible. My cooking skills are limited to pouring cereal and baking muffins so I will need to invest in some culinary classes down the line, haha.

Onto this look--
Welcome to another easy fall look to inspire your own style this season!

Burgundy MINI SKIRTS for everyone! Especially at the amazing prices I found. For less than $100 and less than $50, you can recreate this fabulous outfit on your own terms. Wearing this skirt with a fun and simple STRIPED TOP and statement necklace gives the look a classic yet edgy feel.

Black BOOTS are essential for all types of occasions during this time of year. From Black Friday shopping to hanging out with the family at the outlet malls, find yourself a pair of BOOTS that are meant for walking!

Yes, I live in Florida so they are not quite an everyday shoe (I still need my flip-flops!), but they are fun to put on with some dark wash jeans and to complete this fall look.

Need a new bag? Check out COACH for the best carry-all options. They have bags in so many styles and sizes to fit your needs. I personally gravitate toward a cross-body style because I like to hang my bags close to my hip for security. I can also access everything I need, from my wallet to my cell phone, right beside me. This gorgeous  BURGUNDY BAG  by Coach is perfect for the fall colors, too! I love bringing it out to wear with darker tones.

$20 Mustard Chenille Sweater + Corduroy Skirt

 Photos by: Studio Magnolia

SWEATER: Women's Chenille Any Day Pullover - A New Day at Target in Gold (also comes in purple!) ($20) || SKIRT: Corduroy Floral Print Skirt -Mossimo at Target ($20) || HAT: JCPenney Boucle Cadet Hat ($24.00)  || BOOTS: Express Studded Buckle Booties ($41)
BAG: Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel || NECKLACE: Kendra Scott Arleen Pendant Necklace (it's adjustable!) || LIPSTICK: Smashbox Driver's Seat Liquid Lipstick from Sephora

This MUSTARD SWEATER is such a great basic piece that is a steal at under $25. It's from Target, which is somewhere that you need to stop at to pick up affordable fall to winter items this season! The mustard yellow color is really adding a bit more life to my usual gray and black color scheme this time of year. Of course, I also have a new blush pink bag for that reason, too!

They just released a new line called "A New Day" and this pullover sweater (also comes in purple!) is one of my favorite items. The soft chenille material is perfect for fall, even here in Florida right now for times when it can be cooler at night.

The mustard color is also a nice color against the dark  BLACK FLORAL SKIRT which I found at Target, too. The skirt is affordable at $20.00. For sizing reference: I have the skirt in a size 4 and the skirt has a few buttons on the front.

Onto my favorite new shoes...these black studded booties from EXPRESS! Right now they are also on sale for $41 from $69! These booties not only look super edgy, but they are comfortable to wear all day long.

I have the booties in a size 9. I recommend sizing down because I usually wear a 10 in shoes.

Thank you so much for reading today's post! I hope this outfit gives you some inspiration for your fall and winter collection.

How to Style Gingham in the Fall

Photos by: Studio Magnolia

While browsing on my blog, it's no surprise to discover that my favorite color is blue. I wear it SO much that sometimes I need to give it a rest, but that is not the case with this look today. Bring on the shades of blue!

The gingham trend was clearly a favorite of mine during the summer months, and I've figured out a way to blend it into my fall wardrobe. Purchasing this GINGHAM OFF THE SHOULDER top from Charlotte Russe inspired me to find a way to incorporate the pattern during November (which by the way, happens to be 85 degrees outside right now! How annoying). The ruffled sleeves are amazing, too. And for under $10.00, if you haven't tested out this trend for yourself yet, you won't be breaking the bank with THIS TOP.

Tassel earrings are another fall essential. When the weather cools down, there is nothing better than throwing on a cozy jacket and letting my accessories do the styling!
BaubleBar has a lot of color options for you to choose from when it comes to fun tassel earrings, and this BLACK PAIR is a great staple to own for mixing and matching.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
Let's have a great week!
