Splurge vs. Save $

Today's post is going to be about splurging and saving. From looking at analytics, most of my readers are women between the ages of 18 and 40. Now in comparison to big-name bloggers like my personal favorites, Gal Meets Glam and Southern Curls & Pearls, I am not going to be the one to drop over $5,000 on a single item. I could never, ever justify that and it would break my bank account. My blog is about being affordable because I live by buying on an affordable budget. I shop at Old Navy. I shop at Forever 21. I wander into Anthropologie and dream about $128 jeans that will be on sale one day.

That means I shop smart to look just like my favorite bloggers do! Those cute, trendy Gucci bags that cost over $1,000? There's a dupe for that! Just keep reading for more details...

1. Gucci bags are all over your Insta feed right now, right? Well save TONS of $$ by getting this Old Navy alternative for just under $14.

2. Forget about Chanel because those types of bags are ones I can dream about for now..but I can get the same look at Nordstrom (who LOVE to make designer dupes!) for under $40.

3. I think Chloe bags are super cool but will they be in years to come? Who knows. Trends come and they go so quickly...which means I can't invest in a $1,000 purse that could be 'out' in a year's time! This great dupe is $50 so I can get the look but save tons!

Blush Pink + Floral J.Crew Shorts

Outfit Details:

I want to highlight my favorite part of this look, my new shorts! These are from J.Crew Factory and were less than $14 in the store. I found this print and my size very quickly! I love all the colors they have in them-navy, blush pink, dark pink. That makes them so much easier to match tops to. The one I have on is a soft t-shirt from Aerie. The shorts also match my beautiful Coach bag! So this entire look matches very nicely which is something I am not normally good at, haha.

I hope you start off this new week with positivity. For me, Friday was a tough day. I don't want to spew any political views onto my blog because I find it a place to share my outfits, talk freely about beauty and lifestyle, and post great content for you to read about. I am hoping that America will continue to be the amazing place I am grateful to call home. For 2017, that is my hope.

Off-the-shoulder Sweater + Button-Up Skirt

Outfit Details:

I've recently started to wear more pink. I'm someone who likes to stick to gray and navy but I'm switching things up a bit with this outfit look. I found this cozy off-the-shoulder sweater while out thrifting, but I linked some more options throughout this post, such as this gorgeous Free People number. I also had to wear it with my favorite denim skirt. My lovely Kendra Scott necklace adds a bit of shine to this look, too. The white color seriously works well with any look! I've had it for some time now and pull it out every now and then.

Neutrals + Burgundy Coach Bag

Outfit Details:
Boots: DSW {Similar HERE $50  and HERE }

The winter makes me want to only wear dark colors. I love grabbing some warm tights and my favorite over-the-knee boots to wear with anything. For this look, I opted for a gray t-shirt dress that is speckled. The texture of this dress is not too heavy, so I usually add another jacket on top for a cooler night. My boots {these are old, but these are so similar for $50!} have been with me for over two winters now, and although I don't need them as much in St. Pete as I did in Tallahassee, I was pleased to wear them for a few days this past week! I also am wearing my classic Coach saddle bag which I adore.

January Ipsy Bag Review

I have received my January Ipsy bag! I have a mix this month -- a face mask, nail polish, lipgloss, primer, and blending brush! I always love when I am sent brushes and I am most excited for this blending brush!
Check down below for my first impressions of each product.

This mask promises to brighten, gently resurface, and smooth your skin in 10 minutes. I haven't tested it out yet but will be soon. It sounds nice!

This product claims to minimize pores and helps mattify your entire face. The regular size retails for $35, but this trial size is just enough for me to use on a daily basis. I like the formula even the smell is a little chemical-y.
I like this color. It's a gray brown shade and is such a great neutral. When my nails recover from the powder gel I put on them I plan on using this varnish!

I like lipstick but I'm not so much into lipgloss. Usually it sticks to my hair and ends up coming off super fast. This lipgloss is OK. It comes off easily and dries out my lips.

This is a quick swatch of the color! It is super sheer. It adds just a hint of peach to my lips.

I love when I am sent brushes from Ipsy! They are the products I tend to use first. Brushes are my favorite beauty tools and I like to experiment with different brands. This blending brush seems perfect for every day use. The top is large and super fluffy!

Purple Peacoat

Outfit Details:
Peacoat: Kohl's similar HERE at Forever 21 for $30
Jeans: Old Navy
Purse: H&M similar HERE for under $20
Keychain: BP. {$8}

This weekend everyone, includes us here in Florida!, felt a cool down. I had to wear my new purple peacoat when leaving the house! I got it for Christmas and it really came in handy on Sunday morning when it was a mere 37 degrees outside. I also wore my H&M turtleneck because it gave me some more warmth on my neck. Once again I am using my favorite, go-to bag from H&M and this one is currently on sale for under $20! I am putting these pom-poms on my bags when I switch them out.

This cold snap won't last long, but I have another wintery look coming tomorrow! I'm wearing another cozy long-sleeve open cardigan with some faux fur on it.

Bolo Necklace + Ripped Jeans

Outfit Details:

I am finally wearing this cool new bolo necklace I received for Christmas! It's from Nordstrom and is under $10 which makes it super affordable. I think it fits well with long tops, such as this green tunic I have on in this outfit. Wearing some ripped jeans completes this look. I am obsessed with my new purse  because I need some more brown bags in my life! I seem to only ever buy black purses...but this one is perfect for looks with my brown sandals.

Today is going to be rainy, but tomorrow I am headed to the outlet mall! I'm excited to see if there are any good sales going on. Before Christmas my family and I checked out some designer stores like Kate Spade and Michael Kors and found some amazing deals.

Blu Spero Dress

Outfit Details:
Dress: Blu Spero // Shoes: Jack Rogers

For today's look, I'm sharing a recent purchase from one of my fave boutiques, Blu Spero. The store has quickly become a go-to place to shop for me. They are not your usual Forever 21 because they mix in boutique styles. I love the high neckline on this dress so much. The cute cutout is also flattering and breaks the dress up. I wore this look while shopping at the mall! The dress was a great choice as it made trying clothes on much easier. I am pairing my look with my small brown Rebecca Minkoff cross-body. I own so many cross-body bags, but I needed to find a brown one! I tend to stick to only dark colors. This shade is so beautiful and is something I can toss my wallet in and leave.

On another note, I am SO excited for 2017!! Nothing says it's time to start over like the beginning of a new year. 2016 was full of so many great moments and definitely a fair share of emotional ones. I'm starting this year out with a positive mindset and willing to explore more...I want to travel a bit and take care of myself by working out a few times a week. I struggle with motivating myself to work out, but a few months ago I found a Groupon to try out Barre classes and instantly loved how it combines ballet with a total body work out! I am thinking about starting it back up again...let's hope I stick to it!

*Thank you Blu Spero for collaborating with me on this look. All opinions are my own.
